River Runs High in Bakewell

Had another mystery weekend away that took me to Bakewell today. The weather was miserable and I'm sure that it looks better in the sun. The river was running very high and fast and, indeed, many fields were flooded as we journeyed there.

Still, it was a nice trip out into the Derbyshire Dales, despite the weather. Wound up staying the night in Nottingham central at the Britannia. Had a lovely view from the fifth floor, but couldn't get a shot of the city nightscape as the window wouldn't open enough and light kept bouncing back!

Apologies for my prolonged absence. First dad was ill and had to go back in hospital again and have his gall bladder removed with invasive surgery....then last week I was ill with a virus! Don't know what Christmas is going to be like as dad will probably still be in hospital! My weekend away had been a lovely escape!
