Abi triumphant
I don't know anyone braver than Abi. Next month she has another operation to clear cystic matter from her right ear, which is affecting her hearing, and her from her throat, which, as you might expect, affects her eating and breathing.
Yet despite that, she has proceeded with the Duke of Edinburgh award that she's been working towards all year. And over the last 24 hours that has invoked a lot of walking and hill climbing. Even less easy went you can't ever quite catch your breath.
I was supposed to pick her up from Ribblehead at half-one, today, but her team got up early, had breakfast and struck camp, and passed through most of the checkpoints before they were manned, so in the end I drove out and picked her up at eleven. Man, she was tired but also, quite rightly, triumphant.
PS Photo was taken along the valley between Ingleton and Ribblehead
