Shopping in Zhuhai
Today, we had a day of furniture shopping planned in Zhuhai with friends Steve and Merrilee!
And the route to get there was on the new bridge crossing. We’d been on it back in December to Macau, so Zhuhai was the next one to check out.
I haven’t been to Zhuhai in 10 years and neither of the others had ever been, so we were definitely in for an adventure.
All smooth sailing today, thank You Lord! We were impressed with how easy it all was and between Steve and me, we both got the same address of warehouses that we wanted to go to.
Chinese furniture is nearly half the price in Zhuhai compared to HK, so its worth making the effort.
We had a lovely time checking out some amazing pieces. Lots of photo ops too. Also had a very good lunch after hunting for a restaurant for a while ... we feasted and it cost the four of us less than RMB100 (around GBP11) !!! Unbelievable!!!
And we even managed to find some porcelain balls that I wanted to replace. Thrilled I am :).
Mission accomplished, and after a super successful and happy trip, we headed back to HK, feeling satisfied with all our purchases. And Steve and Merrilee have a wonderful piece of furniture as a special memento of their time in HK. They sadly leave next year to return to the US, after over 30 years in Asia.
Can’t even begin to imagine ....
