Hello Mr Heron

I was so incensed to receive junk mail from a hate preacher today that I had to go for a wander. If you follow me on BookFace you'll see my 'not fit for blip' response. If you live in the NW of England you can probably expect the same through your door.

Fortunately Mother Nature worked her magic. I'm writing an article on the positive benefits that being in nature has on mental health at the moment, it was good to put it into practice.
In the shade of ancient beech trees alongside Church Beck Missy and I paused and watched this fine fellow look for his lunch. Then lazily, comically, he was gone. We stayed, Missy swam, I sat and listened, really listened. Then I got jumped on by a wet puppy. Magic.

We finished our walk via the hens we're looking after this week, they rewarded us with three more eggs. Missy was marginally less scared of them. Until they flapped their wings. Not sure how long that will last though.
