the worm has turned

...what a relief to wake up without the sound of falling rain.

As more rain is forecast, we decided to get two walks in today so, after breakfast, we all piled into two cars and drove over to Rhossili to do a circular walk by Worm's Head and Mew Slade. Amazingly, despite the rain and floods, the footpaths were in great condition and we had a marvellous walk.

After lunch, my sister decided to stay at the cottage to prepare the evening meal and my brother and sister-in-law, whose car had to be abandoned yesterday, wanted to take advantage of the now passable road and asked to be dropped off at their car so they could bring it back to the cottage. The rest of us continued on to Three Cliffs Bay for an excellent stroll on the beach.

The better weather has improved the quality of the mobile phone signal so now I only have to go outside and sit in the car to get an internet connection :)

More rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow, but we hope they have got it wrong...
