Dolly and the hedgehog

We got a phone call mid way through Game of Thrones to go and pick up this wee chap. Took us a while to find him, some kids had come across him and called. The poor wee soul seems to have been attacked by something, he had several broken spines and a very serious injury to his back leg. You can see here that he looks very underweight too, he's likely been struggling along for a while. Sadly there wasn't much that could be done to save him, his leg injury was so severe and there was an infection had set in, they thought the kindest thing would be to put him to sleep. As sad as it makes me that it wasn't a happy ending for this wee guy at least he won't suffer any longer, I'd much rather he had a comfortable death at hessilhead than the alternative. We did finish watching Game of Thrones when we got home.
