Lamb

Today was our first full day in the lakes, and we had the day to ourselves, just needing to get back for 4pm for the start of our course.

We drove up to Dodd Wood.  We first walked up the hill to view an Osprey pair from a couple of viewpoints.  There were RSPB staff on hand to help us to use spotting scopes (at 60x magnification!) to see the nests in the distance.

We then descended the hill, had lunch in the cafe, and crossed the road for a walk in some gardens down to the lake edge, before we returned to join John Gravett for the start of our course.

We had a brief introduction and camera surgery, and then we walked down the hill to the pub for dinner.  After walking back up the hill we looked at some of John's pictures from this time last year before bed.
