P arrived and we set off early for Thirsk and arrived in time for coffee . Thirsk has a resident yarn bombing group. The current theme is local groups - this is the library- it will be replaced by ‘summers here’ at the end of the month. There are lots of bollards in the town square so must have been about 50 of these’ bombs’ . Lovely idea - - we did wonder what happens when it pours with rain though. Pottered around there and went to the Lavender farm for a walk in the gardens and to sit in the sun. Lovely sunshine and a lovely part of the world. Called in to Helmsley - very pretty. Arrived at the very new and comfortable Premier Inn after getting somewhat lost due to very poor diversion signs. Ju didn’t fancy any more driving so we ate in their restaurant. Was ok though.
