Shanklin and Godshill

Met up with Claire again and she took us to Shanklin Chine, a wooded coastal ravine with waterfalls, trees and beautiful vegetation. Its also the site of PLUTO, (pipeline under the ocean) the idea of Lord Mountbatten, it was a, continuous fuel supply pipe-line stretching from tanker ports on the mersey and Bristol channel into France and later as the allied armies advanced east, all the way to Germany
Later we called into picturesque Godshill. Very steep hill up to the church but well worth it for the view across the village.. see extras
