What a lovely morning we had!
We slept well last night in a comfy bed and even the traffic noise of the always busy A4 main road into London and got up for a tasty continental breakfast. Well-prepared, we wandered off down the Cromwell Road to the V&A museum. I knew we wouldn't be able to go in to the Christian Dior exhibition as it is completely sold out apart from a few day tickets available at 10am each morning. We have only been to the museum once before on a fleeting visit so today we decided to see what we could see and go wherever we saw something interesting... A really treasure house... I loved the Cast rooms where there are full size replicas of sculptures from across the world so that people who were unable to travel could see them... I loved some of the parts of buildings displayed in wonderful galleries with fantastic light and shadows, but the most exciting and inspirational section for me this morning was the group of rooms dedicated to photography and the display of so many photographs created through the years, along with lots of cameras (Brownies! See extra). It was truly inspirational. If you have never been there, go! It was the first museum to start collecting photos and houses images form the original RPS collection. We really ought to have a blipmeet there! Also in extras is a shot of a display of eye photographs - brilliantly inspiring as a Blip project! I might try it!
