Oriental Poppy

During a puppy walk round the local area this afternoon I spotted this lone poppy in flower. There are one or two buds but there are not even showing the tiniest bit of colour.

Looking after a puppy is more exhausting than I remember. Fouter likes to eat stones .... not good, talk to every dog he meets ....  fairly lengthens the walk, lie in your lap for a cuddle .... that's OK but my hands are not free to deal with my photos.
