Aretha and a duck
We had a sad loss of chickens last month, but one of the six survived and thrived. Our daughter named her Aretha because of the song "I Will Survive." We restocked the chicks a month ago, and also got three ducks, two Pekins and one Mallard. When we first introduced them to our traumatized Aretha, it was a turning point for her. She kept the babies warm and now she is very much the mother hen. The ducks have grown ridiculously fast and are quite large compared to Aretha, but they yield to her. She is doing a good job raising her chicks and ducks. Here she is at two months with her baby Mallard.
The new macro isn't as clear at a distance as the zoom, but it is a fun option.
