B&E

We went to Amsterdam today to celebrate during a festive lunch that cycling friends have been married for 50 years. Friends of the golden couple were all present. We were very clearly the youngest friends.
We've met B&E when we were at the P&O terminal in Kingston upon Hull. They were also waiting for the ferry there and we started chatting. We immediately got along well. There were also similarities.  Just like us, they originally come from Groningen and his father came from the same village like my mother. A small village, where also our neighbour's mother comes from and he turns out to be distant family. I wouldn't be surprised if E is distant family too.
B&E will go to England again on Thursday, to cycle for 4 weeks. I wish them a safe trip.

When walked back to the train station we ran into an unique running event: the Cruyff Legacy 14K Run. It was the first social run, following a route of 14 kilometers along memorable spots from Johan Cruijff's life and ends at the Johan Cruijff Arena. There also appeared to be a walking tour. It must be very special to join when you are a Cruijff fan.
