Lyde (Day 1466)

The plan this morning was that I would take my beautiful wife's bike in to town to get an MOT done. To that end, last night I gave it a check over, only to find the battery completely flat. I put it on charge for a few hours, then left it overnight thinking I would top up the charge if need be this morning. Sadly the battery had lost all of the charge overnight. Not to be deterred, I shoe horned the battery out of my bike and into HV's. I returned from town with a new MOT and a new battery.
After fitting the battery I took the (rather impatient) woofers out to Lyde where they both raced around in the heather chasing rabbits and geese.
There was time at home for a quick lunch before I headed to Stromness to meet up with HV and get out on the horses. We had a great ride out and I managed my longest canter on George so far. He thought about having a strop once, but I got him under control before it was any more than a thought. I am learning a lot on him at the moment.
All in all, today has been about horsepower in one way or another. Great to be back on both kinds of saddle!
Off out for a fancy dinner with HV shortly - a belated anniversary celebration.
