Gently down the stream

Common comfrey with added bee

Symphytum officinale..

And I think this is a carder bee but perhaps one of you lovely knowledgeable blippers can confirm for me?  I've never tried to identify bee species before and to tell the truth, until I began blipping I had no idea how many different sorts there were - thought it was just bumble, humble or honey  ;))

This morning I did more gardening, and this afternoon took my camera along the Itchen Navigation south of Winchester to see how the swans were getting on, and then up St Catherine's Hill to see the wildflowers ditto.  Wildflowers satisfactory but the swans were a disappointment because although I've been keeping quite a sharp eye on them they have obviously brought off their brood and moved elsewhere.  And I had so wanted to see them do this!

Bit bushed now, so my comments may be a tad short, but you know looking at all your images is a high spot in my day, so thank you :))

Have a great evening  xx
