Wild Boar Fell
Just a simply glorious day to be out.
Missy and I parked beneath the Fell End Clouds and wandered purposefully East across the divide betwixt Howgills and into the Dale's.
After a solid hour and a half we reached out first destination - a wonderfully sandy beach at 650m asl, at the aptly named Sand Tarn. A real suntrap. We sat a while simply being. One of us swam - both of us probably should have, our own private pool with the Lakeland Fells glimpsed over the shoulders of sleeping Howgill giants, curlews calling on the wing.
Then a steep little scramble up onto the high plateau top of the Fell - an East and West summit both marked at 708m - at least a mile of plateau only fractionally lower.
We saw two other souls - see if you can spot them in extra 2...
