Earlier this morning, in Kenilworth the ford was well and truly in flood on Castle Road - which at the time the picture was taken, the road had been shut at both ends.
Looking from this angle there is a bend iu the road, around which you would encounter orange barriers shutting the road and after that a junction of sorts.
The road goes by what has been for well over a century or more the ruins of Kenilworth Castle. Most of the intact parts of the castle can be seen top left of the picture, followed by the remains of the castle moat.
Abbey Park is out of sight to the right of the picture, the entrances to which are very close to the footbridge (see the white marker for the water level and the short stone pillars - roughly centre of picture).
The stream (yes, normally a stream), flows under the road through what I think are 3 round concrete pipes (which are roughly a metre in height).
At the cente of the picture the water is roughly a foot and a half deep. Bear in mind that perhaps no more than a couple of weeks ago, this was a good foot higher than this. The road had been reopened I think about a week ago, but was shut again about a day ago.
