wasps and ladybirds

Today at the allotment I watched a wasp busy building its nest. It was really fascinating as it flew away and came back and carefully added another small layer to its creation.
As I was turning the earth over I noticed that the soil was crawling with Ladybirds, there must have been a good few hundred of them.
A fascinating couple of hours.
