Mynah and shadow

Mother-in-law has had had another trip to the hospital; is still there. Yesterday she called the ambulance as the oesophogeal pouch she has was causing pain and inability to keep down even water. It's too risky to try to surgically repair. So she will probably be discharged again tomorrow.

While S visited for longer than I did, I sauntered around the edges of the nearby Smith's Bush, a good sized area of regenerating native bush between sports fields and a tidal inlet. 

I saw this mynah (and its mate) beside the street. Managed a few decent photos of it. This is bird Nø 49 for this year.
