"Out of the mist and steam" ....
.... rose a taniwha (rooooar).
Let me explain.
I was driving along through the mist and I thought of these words.
Alan Duff wrote a book titled "Out of the mist and steam". I think it is autobiographical about him growing up in a very difficult community and family in New Zealand about 60 years ago. A tough childhood. Actually, he had a similar childhood to Jimmy Barnes whose autobiography I have just read as he grew up in Ireland and then Australia. He also eventually rose "out of the mist and steam".
A taniwha is a mythical water monster in Maori stories - like the lochness monster.
I could imagine the taniwha rising out of this mist this morning.
