TREE BUMBLE BEE Bombus hypnorum

I tipped out a compost bin and disturbed a colony, but they appear to have survived. We have a variety of what the Prof calls ‘bumlers’ in the garden, but it’s the first time I’ve seen these gorgeous ginger ones with their distinctive tendency to go bald and their bright white tails.

I’ve been absent from Blip for over a month...no particular reason...think I just got out of the habit
