Gleneagles

After a great flight that left 30 mins late, I arrived in Edinburgh on time - not sure how that happened, but the wind must have been pushing us along!  I sent a text to Diane to let her know we'd landed and she and David had just arrived and parked the car, so perfect timing.

David came in to meet me and I recognised him straight away (the power of blip!), and once we got to the car, I finally met Diane - we've been blip friends for years so I felt I already knew them both and after a quick hug, we set off on a sightseeing tour as we travelled to their house.  We stopped at Queensferry to see the Forth Bridges - we had a laugh as I thought Diane was pointing out the 'real' bridge, when what she was actually saying was the 'rail' bridge,  I need to tune into the Scottish accent a bit better lol!  Queensferry itself was very quaint and not what I'd expected at all.

We then drove on through the beautiful countryside and I could even see snow on the tops of the mountains - so picturesque!  And on passing through Gleneagles, we had a slight detour so I could see Millionaires row - what fabulous properties!

On arriving at Diane and David's home, I received a wonderful welcome from Lola and Alan and was particularly honoured to get some lovely smiles off Alan.  David showed me to my room and I dropped my things off and then Diane and I sat chatting for an hour or so before going to Gleneagles to meet Inge for lunch at the Dormy Clubhouse.  What a wonderful lunch we had, great food, fantastic company, a lovely waiter and a fabulous setting!

I popped outside to get some photos of the golf course, as the sun was shining and whilst I have got some photos with golfers on, this was my favourite as it shows the course and the wonderful landscape.  We then wandered over to the Gleneagles Hotel as today is Diane's 3,000th blip and she wanted to take a photo of myself and Inge.  David obliged by taking photos of the three of us with all of our cameras and then of course I brought out the selfie stick - what a laugh we had and I've added an extra that David took of us taking the selfie :-)

We dropped Inge off at her holiday home and then went back home to relax and we went down to the Gin Palace for prosecco and nibbles until dinner was ready - I know, it's not the Prosecco Palace, but I don't drink gin, so Diane kindly made an exception to the rule.

It's been a wonderful day and I've been made to feel really welcome, thank you both for your hospitality!
