Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Hot stuff!!

This little plate of goodies is served up to you alongside any other dish at our favourite restaurant in Fethiye. C assumed that they would be relatively mild chillies, similar to the ones we get in India sometimes.... Wrong! Fortunately they also serve up very fresh local bread with every meal and that helped to put out the fires. Where's the pleasure in that, we asked ourselves once he had recovered.
Today we went down to the beach at Olu Deniz, a couple of miles from where we are staying. You can see why the name of the colour turquoise was coined here in Turkey. Simply stunning , see extra.
We have been suffering from very strange weather forecasts while we've been here. According to AccuWeather we've been lounging by the pool in temperatures of 16'. The local thermometers have it more like 26, which is what it feels like, although there can be a cool wind at times to remind us it is only early May.
It has been decidedly cooler after the sun has gone down with people needing to wear sweatshirts in the evenings. Fortunately you can buy them very cheaply here, even those made by the very top designers, lol!
I went to the local shopping centre target than the tourist area and bought myself one there. It does not have a fancy label, not even a fake one, but it cost me even less, under £6, and it keeps me just as warm.
Day 1 today and 13,504 steps
