Another Day Another Stump

I had not seen this one before and ok it's just a tree stump, but practice makes perfect!

I suppose I'm attracted to the rich colour and pitted surface taken on by the decaying wood, as well as the bright green of the moss growing on an old root, which acts as a lead in to the main prize. Either side of the root, new grass stands to attention flanking the view. Behind, blue from the sky reflects on the water helping to isolate the stump from the reeds and create a bit of recession.

I would like to figure out how to make the moss look better. I know it feels soft, but I think it should look more crunchy somehow. Not sure.
