Out in the rain
Rich and I went out to play in the rain. Well, we went to check that the SUDs on the development were working after a silt build-up was cleared.
It was all working as it should. The top sustainable drainage system (SUDs) ditch in my blip photo, has a hydrobrake in the pipe connecting it to the lower SUDs ditch and this is designed to hold water within the ditch for a short period of time, allowing it to drain slowly and clear in the hours after a heavy rain.
This decrease in the flow rate of the water through the development and out to the watercourse, is designed to reduce the impact on the local environment and improve water quality.
Needless to say I was working at home. My cold is getting better so I will be back to London tomorrow.
