Droplet of Amber

I decided to combine an entry for Tiny Tuesday with another specimen from our little home museum. This is a droplet of Baltic amber, which is about 45 million years old. I recall hunting through a pile of miscellaneous pieces of amber at a market stall a few years ago and found this one that had preserved insects. It's really amazing how perfect they are!

I was a little bit undecided about what to blip today, as we also had our first rose blossom, so I've added that to Extras.

The builders were back on the job after the long weekend and really made a lot of progress. Completely finished feeding the hot and cold water plumbing from the kitchen, through a wall, along the back of the bookshelves, under a radiator and through another wall to reach the new cloakroom. They also finished building the forms for the foundation slab and poured the concrete. They say it will be all framed and water tight by the end of this week!
