Wedding Present in 1904
This clock was bought in 1904 by my great grandfather. He carried it 4 miles on his back to take home to his wife as a wedding present. My grandmother inherited it when she got married. I remember asking my grandmother if she would leave it to me in her will when I was very young. As it happened she passed it on to me when I settled into my first home.
It is a very ornate clock about 3ft in height and hangs in my front room. It still works, but I don't keep it going because the tick is very loud and the chimes are rather strident!
