Autumn glory at Lake Tarawera

The lake was like satin when we arrived at 5ish last evening and all the leaves have fallen from the poplars and the sycamore , whilst ruddy tones are still falling from the maples and pin oaks.
It's so quiet and peaceful...the only sounds coming from the tuis, bellbirds,
fantails twittering and Matt the plumber who is up the ladder, doing a sterling job replacing guttering and rain heads. As soon as Dr D gets a chance to tickle new life into the reluctant spark plug in the leaf blower, I'll be back on the job round Hermione Cottage. Until then I'm specialising in being an old lady and working on a little tapestry.
