... about my actual journey, or the pretty coloured houses etc, but actually no. This is the Pharos, the ship used by the Northern Lighthouse Board to maintain their lighthouses. In itself this is not remarkable, but what impressed me is the name - back in 1814 Walter Scott sailed in the Lighthouse Yacht Pharos and toured round northern Scotland. So this ship is the descendant of the 1814 one!
