Rest in Peace

Finally got to Leicester Cathedral- apologies in advance to anyone who lives in Leicester but it really is a depressing city. All that’s wrong with our inner cities- soulless, urban blight, brutalist architecture, deserted shops, and sad humans. The Cathedral was a little pocket oasis with the tomb of Richard III, in all its beauty. The stone is Swaledale and the plinth Kilkenny Limestone.
As a panacea to our senses we finished the weekend off in Stamford. From the ridiculous to the sublime... the most perfect honey stoned Georgian market town. Beautiful. A lovely way to end a great trip.
