Qantas - the Australian flag carrier, an ironic symbol of national pride and hatred in equal measure, much like Blighty's BA.

Often known as Qantas, but when things are delayed, it's Quanarse, Cuntass, and other variations.

Alas, we were not flying Qantas today, we were flying with its little brother airline - Jetstar. This is an airline also much derided by the local 20 million people that live here, for their brilliant ability to change a flight's time ad destination up to half and hour before they are meant to take off. Their web site even says they reserve the right to do this. Amazing.

Anyway, a pub quiz question often asked, is what does QANTAS actually stand for? You would think that at least ONE of the letters A is for Australia wouldn't you?

But no. It stands for, and note this down:
