25th Anniversary

I've done a diptych for you so that you can see both sides of this bottle. I'm pretty sure that I bought it in Calais in 1994. So, on this day 26 years ago, HM QE2 and President Mitterand formally opened the Channel Tunnel. It's not far from here and I've been through on a train and with a car and it's a smashing bit of engineering - far more comfortable than the ferry.

Note the spelling of HM's name in the English translation on the reverse of the bottle.
