May Day Carnival

We went down to the May day carnival in town today. Just Rich and myself this year. All the kids had other plans. I think going with mum and dad would cramp their style somewhat. It was a wet and chilly afternoon but it didn't seem to dampen spirits much. There were bands playing, food stalls, street performers and fun fair rides galore. We watched the parade go through town. There were no big floats this year but still plenty of vintage cars and tractors. Drum bands and pipe bands and the May queens in their gowns and tiaras. I liked this stilt walking fairy.
