Un-puttable-down

... and it's actually set in my neighbourhood, my streets and (says a friend who's read it) you can even recognize some of the locals! None of that would glue me to the book if Zadie Smith was a mediocre writer, but she is brilliant and her portrayal of this corner of London absolutely spot on, which is why I don't mind giving her a plug. Ta very much Zadie, you've kept my morale up and my brain engaged through this most tedious of all rainy days.
