This week our renovation of the front of the house has turned up a few surprises. Around 4 decades ago the front of our house was covered in a textured coating from top to bottom by one of the previous owners. The coating was cracking and coming off in certain areas, so we asked our contractor to take the coating off and re-plaster and paint the front of the house. Little did we know that the old coating was hiding beautiful stone carved pillars, balcony and other extravaganzas. The photo is looking up towards the underside of the balcony. Taking this old coating of the stonework is going to be very time consuming (and costly)...
