Liberation Day

I was born in 1947. I have memories of explosions, having to wait on the sidewalk and people opening their windows. In our town Scheveningen, they were removing the Atlantic Wall.

1955 while I was in elementary school, the students received a cup to commemorate the tenth Liberation Day. A Canadian soldier on the cup holding a Dutch girl dressed in orange and three more children waving flags.
