Day 2

Great spotted woodpecker and treecreeper are today's new species. Two more and I'll qualify for an inflatable Bill Oddie.
Walked from Stanton to Cleeve Hill today. A beautiful breathless day. Everywhere has been bucolic. I kept expecting Jack Hargreaves to emerge from a coppice and having a damn good whittle.
But obviously not Sir Frank Whittle; he was never a man for the woods.
