Skirmish!

The photos that I took this morning didn't come out very well so this afternoon I went to the castle where a War of the Roses living history event was taking place.  The costumes and the details of their life were very accurate and there was some fighting between the two sides.

I was standing on the castle viewing mound and a group of archers took up position near me. The arrows raining down on those in battle below looked extremely dangerous!

It wasn't obvious whether the House of Lancaster or York won the battle but I'm sure that they all enjoyed themselves. Fortunately the fallen came back to life too!
