Backblip
So hard to choose which photo to blip for today.Such a beautiful day when the colours just popped.
Richard came over at 8.30am to watch Game of Thrones with David ( I need to catch up ) .
Mike had broken one of his crowns and Davids retainer wire had become loose so they both had an appointment at the Dentist this morning. They dropped me at Ferry Point and I had a super hour and a half walking, sitting and enjoying the sunshine.Plenty of wildlife around to keep me company.I came across some pretty forget-me-nots that were covered in ladybirds. We rarely see them here and the last few weeks I've seen quite a few even in my garden.
The gull is nesting in one of the rotten poles that was once part of the canal, not sure how much longer it will last.
There are a few bird feeders around so sat and watched for a while. Two robins were courtship feeding and a rabbit appeared a few times from the bushes but soon disappeared once it knew it was being watched.
Fitted in a visit to the Doctors in the afternoon. My bloodpressure is still fairly high evn with the tablets so another one has been added.
In the early evening we went to the Uni for lecture as part of the science festival.Ran by Simon Drake a Field Geologist (from Harrietsham in Kent) who specialises in volcanology and meteorite impact , he talked about the impact of a meteor on the Isle of Skye and what evidence they have found, fascinating stuff.Must admit I did not understand all of it though ;)
Afterwards the sun was setting and the light was amazing so I had a wander around outside. The moorhen was running along the humps on the walkway ,the swan was happily sitting on her eggs and the reed buntings were flying around in the reeds. i liked the way the sun was lighting up the reeds and I've only seen reed buntings a few times so decided on this photo for my blip.
