The bridge to heaven

Wonderful day trip to Amanohashidate, known as one of Japan’s three most scenic views.

Viewed from the mountain at the end of the Bay, the pine covered sandbar is said to be a pathway between heaven and earth. Amanohashidate roughly translates to “bridge from heaven.”

You can take a speedboat across the bay then rent a bicycle and cycle back across the sandbar. So that’s what we did. A lovely day!
