Driving the bus south
I managed, in spite of storms to get off the islands. I was sure the Aberdeen ferry would be cancelled so got up at four to catch the one that leaves Stromness for Scrabster. The captain said it would be a smooth crossing but I suspect that no-one believed him and I think they sold no breakfasts at all. But it was true; the gales were from the SE and that is probably the best direction for that route- there was little swell, really. I caught a bus from Scrabster to Inverness and this is taken through the windscreen. I made it to my Dad's for 6.15, so not too bad considering the storms, floods and landslides. The location on the map is very approximate.
