This is not any old just emerged male Adonis Blue its officially the first recorded Adonis Blue in Sussex this year! Of course all the action in the Adonis Blue is on the upper wing surface - which remained determinedly shut in rather cool, windy and overcast conditions.

With yesterday's small copper and common blues as well as a Wall Brown seen this morning it brings my total species to 17 - this time last year I was still in single figures.
