Lucky!

My ankle is very sore, and it will take some time before I'm running as I want. I'll probably miss a Mountain Marathon I've entered that's five weeks off, but I'll recover.

Yesterday I learned that one Harrier I like has had a bad mountain bike crash - in the Glasgow Spinal Injuries Unit but should be OK - and that another I don't know has terminal cancer. More touching was hearing yesterday that wife of a much younger colleague of mine is running the Edinburgh Marathon for Cancer Research, D having been diagnosed with advanced cancer 12 months ago. His illness has hit me quite hard: he's a great bloke, doing everything we should to stay healthy (sub-2:45 marathon runner) and this happens.
