The Cardboard Cathedral
After Christchurch Cathedral was virtually destroyed in the major earthquake that hit this city in February 2011 The Anglican Church decided to erect a transistional Cathedral . The site was chosen from one in the inner city where another Anglican Church had been destroyed and because the innovative design chosen for this building was based around the use of cardboard tubes, the structure is called "The Cardboard Cathedral." Someone has been very creative and erected this Christmas Tree constructed from pieces of the Cardboard tubes being used. The building has actually started and the end wall framework can be seen on site (not in this shot).
The Bossess is proud to be involved with the Construction company that is doing this work. This is typical of some of the innovation being shown in the city that my folks came from some 11 years ago. This site is just outside the CBD where many buildings still stand unoccupied and unloved waiting for the wreaking ball.
Many of you will be a bit confused about ME. I am Tiny Tussock and big Tussocks assistant. I ride on The Boss's camera bag and provide editorial input when Bit T is on leave. Click here to say hullo.
Great Blip meet today with Ginger Nan and Farmer Girl but disaster did strike as the barista who used to make Teddy Bears on the coffee had left. The Bossess was beside herself. Well actually she was beside Ginger Nan. Silly saying I think.
The devil is in the detail
P.S The Bossess is rapt at the attention you have given to her shot suggestion for yesterday and this appreciation has driven her to suggest this one too. ER.... plus a bit of a vested interest as above. (Large sign was cropped out)
