Laboured
International Workers Day. A public holiday for much of the world, including Mozambique. For me a stressful deadline and preparations for a 5-day field trip commencing tomorrow.
People around the city were taking it easy, including this street vendor, caught napping on his counter. I jettisoned work for enough time to have a coffee outside, and coincided with a nearby family with the cutest toddler daughter. I was her chosen focus, and she delivered me her baby doll and a toy that looked like it had emerged from a Kinder Egg. These were followed by a box of tea she grabbed from the shelf, and lastly a large chair that was 10 times her size but that she dragged across the decking. She then sat on it to talk gibberish, which was cute.
