Forty Years of New Writing

My anniversary edition of Granta thudded onto the mat this morning. I didn't start right at the beginning of the rebranded magazine in 1979. I think the first edition I bought was in the mid 1980s - would be an issue number somewhere in the teens - and I started subscribing a bit later. Since then the completist in me has compelled me to fill the gaps in my collection so there is now a run all the way up to the latest edition - number 147. They have introduced me to a lot of new writers over the years.
