Artisan Breadmaking Course

I’ve blipped my attempts at sourdough and watched other blippers’ enthusiastic posts. You may remember that I signed up for the course at Lichfield’s Hindleys Bakery ages ago.

It was amazing.

Duncan, the fourth generation of these respected bakers, is an excellent, patient and fascinating teacher. His love of bread, his knowledge, research and enthusiasm make him such a superb tutor.

We made French Rustic Batard loaves (as pictured) which were amazing. I think Duncan looks rather pleased too. I’ve just munched down a couple of chunks.

We made walnut loaves too and have been sent home to work on sourdough that we began during this session.

Not to mention the aprons, scrapers, bags, and the afternoon tea.

I’m not surprised these courses are booked months in advance. Two of the group had been given the course as birthday presents.
