Waiting

I had occasion to visit the local hospital today, planned well ahead.  The waiting room was not too crowded so I took the opportunity to fiddle with my Fuji X-E3, practising back button focus to see if it suited me.  I didn't reach a conclusion because the AF-L button wasn't focusing the camera, as far as I could tell.  The indicator on the rear screen appeared, but no focus confirmation such as a green square; there wasn't even a movement in the focus motor.


I've probably missed out a setting, or something, but it might also be u/s.
