Villa Carlotta Gardens

Most things we need are available in the village, but occasionally there is something we cannot get locally. Today we took the ferry over to Menaggio for some minor shopping. Shopping completed we returned to Lenno by bus, after a stroll around Menaggio and an ice cream of course.

The weather was warm today so we were able to sit outside on the ferry.

In my opinion some of the gardens here are at their best in late spring and early summer. The main picture shows part of the garden at Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo. We visited the garden this time last year. This year we may visit the garden at Villa Monastero in Varenna instead. We were there late summer, but have not visited at this time of year.
