Nordfjord & Olden
We woke up this morning to find ourselves in a beautiful, breathtaking fjord.
This is Nordfjord about 6.45 in the morning.
Nestled at the end of the fjord is a pretty little town called Olden.
We were able to spend a few hours here and had a very happy time going for a walk which led us to the head of a lake.
We went inside a little church on our way.
See extras.
I do wonder what the locals think about these big cruise ships and the many tourists who arrive in big numbers.
Well, I don't know about everyone in Olden, but we were given a loud and fun send-off from some of the locals as we set off later in the day.
There was a local hostelry right by the quay which cranked up the volume and we set off to a very loud rendition of Rod Stewart's 'Sailing' and Status Quo's 'Rockin' all over the World' and then a bit of classical. After that stopped, another house further down played Stevie Wonder's 'I Just Called to Say I Love You'.
There were locals down on the quayside flying Norwegian flags and waving as well as an England flag flying from a house higher up the hill!
It was a fun thing to see and hear and many of us on the ship thanked them with clapping and loud cheers.
What nice people in Olden!
Had a free manicure when I was back on board too :)
